Hi All, Does anyone know what this item is. Looks like a spoon that has been but in half. A friend thought it was a mustache shaper. Can anyone help with the hallmarks as well. Thank you all

Hi, Its a food pusher for a baby. It is to stop a baby from spitting their food out.

Your welcome, also, they are not hallmarks but rather makers mark. It is silverplate not solid silver. Hall marks are only on items that went to the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Hall in London, for testing and confirmation as wether gold or silver, hence the term Hall Marked.

Or one of the other hallmarking centres, like Birmingham or Sheffield ๐

I was given one for my Christening in 1949. and a matching spoon with a curved handle, you pushed the food onto the spoon with the 'pusher'

It is Old English Gothic script; I THINK it says "MH&Co" which is probably Martin Hall & Co - you can see a similar mark here
