Profiteering

How do you go about reporting or warning buyers about someone  charging  10,000% markup on a collectable?

Re: Profiteering

do you mean the price is too high ? ridiculous ? if you are that's up to the seller. some are a little deluded as to the value of things but that's their prerogative

Totally agree. Value is in the eye of the beholder. Reporting should be reserved for those who (knowingly) flout eBay rules. Anyone who pitches their prices absurdly high will simply fail to sell. Just ignore their listings.

Re: Profiteering

You can report someone for inflating postage, accepting or refusing to accept certain payment methods, fee avoidance, fake items being sold as genuine, or other eBay rule violations. There are no rules against an excessive BIN, reserve or opening bid price, even an extreme one. Obviously, in an actual auction situation where the price has soared far above "true value", there's nothing you can do since at least two people seem to disagree with you as to the item's actual worth. And, since bidders and buyers are now pretty much anonymous, there's no way to contact them and educate them otherwise.

Or, as the pointy-haired boss in Dilbert says, "There's no law against optimism. I checked.".

I would like to know as well, it's obvious some of these sellers bought in bulk recently leading to shortages we have now and are now profiteering off it, it's utterly disgraceful and ebay should be monitoring it and shutting down those stores

I think the issue is the behaviour of some these sellers was the reason why we have shortgaes now and they are trying to profiteer off it

This thread is on antiques and is more than 6 years old.

Every listing has a report link.

Re: Profiteering

How do you buy collectibles in bulk? By definition they aren't available in large quantities or they wouldn't be collectible.
