Repair to jug handle

Hi need some advice please.  Recently won a bone china milk jug from overseas and it was described as being in excellent condition.

Upon receipt I did notice a small round chip to the inside of the handle but being on the inside didn't really worry about it.  Gave it a clean and when I went to put it into the display cabinet I had another look and noticed a very fine break across the area of the chip and it had been repaired.  Messaged the seller and was informed that all items are inspected and the repair wasn't picked up.  Has offered a partial refund and also advised that when an item is repaired " it is normally stronger".  I would assume that the area would now be weak and using it would be a concern.  Anyone had experience with repairs to china.  TIA
