my latest find is this lovely penguin (unfortunately his beak is broken and stuck back on)

marked on base  adelie penguin in same ''writing'" as Taronga Zoo on the front.

could it be a GS ? or later?  he's big, approx 13cm tall

Hello Putney,

I usually just lurk when these pieces come up as I have had some run in's in the past.

No GS pieces are hollow like this. GS never made Taronga Zoo pieces marked Taronga Zoo.

Perhaps Adelia made Penguin. Looks like that is what is written on it,

thanks for that Pip, Adelie is a type of penguin found in Antarctica.

no makers mark, so I'll just add him to my flock of penguins (which used to be in a cabinet inthe spare room, now in a box!!)

I have seen a Grace penguin Lyndel.......maybe those that own it will be able to help.

Thanks for the prompt Miss Linda.  I own a Grace penguin, would show you a picture but he is packed away somewhere unknown.  This penguin does not look at all like the one by Grace.  Mine is solid, not hollow and as I remember he is nowhere near 13 cms tall.

yeah thanks Wilma.  I have seen a couple of Grace Zoo pieces years ago and I did recall they were much smaller than this little fellow.
