I do so love a happy ending, and I hope this elephant has a long and happy life, although I do fear it will now be killed because it defended itself and will be deemed a danger to humans...

Again, they'll make a BIG HERO of him.
All hunting except for food should be banned.
What FUN people find in killing something for 'sport' is beyond me.
But, then, they call me weird.
* I will add an exception - where it is hunting to eradicate a known pest. And, Yes I know it's not the rabbit's fault it was brought here and breeds so much, nor the camels, nor the cane toad's fault, nor the fox's fault etc.

Gibson’s tracker indicated the elephant was in “musth” – a condition where the animal’s urge to mate goes into overdrive and it becomes overly aggressive, but Gibson continued.
Yes, the Great White Hunter disregarded the advice of the tracker - and paid the price.
