I've heard that much the same thing happened in Fukushima when the tsunami came, and went.
People up and left, and left their pets because they couldn't take them with them.
Emergency shelter? Yes.
Pet friendly emergency shelter? I'm sorry, did I hear you right...?
It's a sad truth that animals more often than not get the short end of the stick.
