I'll never forget that day either, terribly sad and scary.

Today is also 16 years since I lost my mum ๐Ÿ˜ž

Such a terrible day that was here in Vic. One that I'll never forget.  Woman Sad

I always get a bit nervous now whenever we have high temps and a strong northerly.

so far we've been lucky as we haven't had the two together. On Saturday it's foerecast that we'll have them both,  so hoping that we get through the day without any major fires.

The CFA has done a great job of getting fires under control this season

A close family member fought those fires while not knowing if her wife and kids were safe. Their house was smoke and ember damaged, and their front fence was burnt down, but otherwise, their house was safe. Their neighbours were not so lucky and were burnt down. A horrible time all round with far reaching consequences, both physically and psychologically.

I was driving from Canberra to Melbourne, with Murphy Rabbit in the car.

We decided to cancel our booking and stay in Canberra.

We drove back from where we now live to our home in the middle of the fire affected area in Canberra on the day the fires arrived there.
A truly terrifying time and one I never want to be repeated.
Some people affected there are still grappling with their losses.
