Look Donna, it's crystal clear Tone will go to option B = the blame game.

Don't know how, unless he puts some very drastic measures in place. Like refusing to allow Australian Navy boats into Indon waters fot rescue or something else the media will get a hold of and blow up to cause world outrage.
the Australian Government regarded Indonesia as an ally, now Indon has extricated itself from that relationship by dragging up an incident from 4 years ago and creating a diplomatic row about it.
Indon's help was only ever half-hearted anyway, and the Rudd/Gillard knew better than to push it. Tony has gone into it full bore wanting to make good his promise to the Australian Voters and has steered into very deep waters, apparently.

I never believed that the boats could be 'stopped'.

Our Navy have responsibilities and have to follow international law .Do you think that they might be outraged if told NOT to do that?
How does "I was only following orders" work as a defence?

TA treated Indonesia with contempt from the start, he insulted them over and over, patronised them, announced policies requiring their cooperation without consultation. As I was pointing out for ages Indonesia will not put up with that. Now he has this mess on his hands, and instead of trying some diplomacy he is making announcements in parliament. Well, the Indonesians are going to make life pretty difficult for him.

What are the responsibilities of the Australian Navy Boats?
What does International Law say?

Right from the start we were told that the plans (which people of this Country voted on) wouldn't work.We didn't want to hear that message from a Country we expected to 'help us' with 'our' *cough cough* problem.
Did we understand that their own Country and it's people is far worse off than ours? It's like a rich man expecting a poor man to be able to buy him his dinner when he himself can't afford his own...
and insulting him while asking.
Incoming foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop says she is confident the Coalition will be able to implement all of its asylum seeker policies regardless of how Indonesia views them.
Julie Bishop " We're not asking for Indonesia's permission, we're asking for their understanding"
It's very hard not to feel really angry with those who didn't want to hear, talked of anything but what was actually important regarding politics, and promoted lies, propaganda, isms and ignorance.
