It seems aspartame is made from CARP

This scientific jargon obfuscates (perhaps deliberately) a truly disturbing process:

1.) 'Cloned microorganisms' (which the patent later reveals to be genetically modified E. coli) are cultivated in tanks whose environments are tailored to help them thrive.

2.) The well-fed E. coli cultures defecate the proteins that contain the aspartic acid-phenylalanine amino acid segment needed to make aspartame.

You must have had to dig to find this gem. Couldn't you remember to reply to it over 7 years ago?

Hang on mate. You know very well that when a subject is created and you place the title in, the system automatically searches subject history and brings up other threads for consideration. This is to stop duplicates! This thread had only about 5 or 6 replies on it, two of them was from members who are  active contributors to this forum.

I'm just making use of a low reply thread which the system here suggests I do!

But isn't eBay mainstream? Why would you take their suggestions as gospel?

Why don't you just discuss the topic? Or not, as you see fit?

Why do you feel the need to constantly question and critiscise other poster's choice of topic.

The subject matter was of interest then, and still is.

It is still being used as a sweetener, despite health concerns being raised over it's use:

and, Aspartame is the sweetener used in Diet Coke.  Anecdotal evidence from the USA over the last 4 years has shown it can cause:

- delusions of grandeur

- a propensity to exaggerate

- persistent lying

- excessive tweeting in the wee small hours

- paranoia leading to claims of election fraud

- mistrust of mainstream media

- seriously bad public displays of dance moves to YMCA

- inciting insurrection

- cheating at golf

- excessive use of spray-tan

- orange skin colouring

among other things

Another sweetener - Sorbitol - is no better.

It is also used as a laxative......and for anyone who has sorbitol intolerance - it works.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to have this added to their diet icyfroth. This is nothing but a chemical.

People seriously need to read the fine print on the back of the food packaging.
