Kiva loan :)

Aww my 14 year old son just happily paid for a Kiva loan out of his own money. I suggested it to him after showing him the one I did last night and he didn't hesitate to say yes.

Just a little bit proud that he did that :-x

Re: Kiva loan :)

Sorry I had to dash off last night. The offer is only for new members and it was sponsered by the founder of linkedIn. They will give you a $25 loan that you can chose who to give to but the repayments will go back to the sponser.

Fantastic gesture and there are only 24,000 there abouts offers left 😉

Re: Kiva loan :)

linkedin pays the loan money, but you pretend it's yours so you can see how it works. You'll be able to choose a recipient and watch the repayments / outcomes. It sounds like an excellent way for people to try the system, if they're unsure

Re: Kiva loan :)

Do you know how Kiva works azureline?

Basically you loan $25 and then they will make repayments back untill you get your $25 back then you can reloan to someone else.

The free trial is donated for a new member to use to see how kiva works but the repayments will go back to the sponser not the user so the benefit is that kiva gets more members and once people see how the money helps others they may decide to loan $$$ of their own to other people.

Hope that makes it clearer 🙂 If not someone else might be able to explain it better than me.

Re: Kiva loan :)

it's explained on the site, DB

You can pay by paypal or credit card

You choose someone to loan your 25.00 to

You watch the repayment schedule

when it's paid back, it goes back into your Kiva account

then you can re-lend, or withdraw the money
