I had to go and look at the calender to double check that is the 21st Century.
That story borders on being unbelievable.
The young man, and his brother were "subjected to physical punishment for hours "in the hope they would confess to prior sins and ask for forgiveness". In a church.
As if slaying Thomas Becket wasn't enough.

you don't go to church because
of a couple of crazy people?
do you go ANYWHERE?

What defines "crazy".
Mental illness, individualism or not agreeing with a particular viewpoint?

Quite unstable, it seems neighbours don't think it was really any kind of Church,by what I have read. They didn't make attempts to increase their flock.
