Police shoot man

I believe they held fears for the young woman with him and as he was wielding an axe they had every reason to.

Police shoot man

He rushed at the police with an axe.

Quite frankly, he is lucky he is not dead, they had every right to shoot to kill. The fact only one shot was fired shows great restraint.

A lot of people seem to think that they are somehow entitled to second and third and fourth chances, that there should never be immediate consequences for their actions.

The man had a knife and an axe and was asked to put them down. he put down the knife only, and most likely only to make it easier to wield the axe.

If you are in any kind of enclosed area and police ask you to put down a weapon, you need to do what you are told. The time taken for an attacker to get to police may only be a second or two. This is not TV land where everything goes in slow motion and people have time for a long chat.

What did the man expect? Are police meant to be patsies or engage in hand to hand combat with a man with an axe? The taser didn't work.

If you pose a serious threat to others and the police and you're actually attacking, maybe you deserve to be shot.
