Remove roadside trees.

Another two young kids die by hitting a roadside tree:

Isn't it about time that roadside trees are removed?

The amount of times I've heard people dying by hitting a roadside tree is ludicrous.

This is one simple thing to reduce the road toll,(the added benifit is that they could sell them for firewood).

Travelling from Katamatite to Shepparton is a nightmare as you are always looking at branches that overhang

the road and when it rains you watch the dead trees in case they topple,(that's apart from the big roadside

trees that will kill anyone that hits them).

Someone will die because of those trees,(most are Gum trees and one given with Gum trees is that sooner

or later they will drop their branches).

Report them and you get a thank you and that's it.

Nothing gets done until a branch or a tree falls and then it's just cleaned up,(once it's cleaned up there is no

sign that it ever happened),

All rather ironic really.  Anyone see the Catalyst episode on the origin of the world's songbirds and parrots? 

DNA and fossil evidence have now proved that the earliest songbirds and parrots originated....in Australia.  Then they spread around the world and of course evolved over time.

What about garden beds? it would look really pretty and then there'd be nothing to stop you from careening into the oncoming traffic If you were speeding, not paying attention, texting, phone taking and being a bit drunk.

The trees don't do it, they just stand there

Trees are the innocent victims.

The road always has a few feet to a few metres to any tree, usually a fence as well.

Teach the kids(?) to drive better.

The tree's DON'T JUMP out to hit cars!

Hedges are nice but they have two sides and neighbours can sometimes be difficult.

If you plant right on the boundary line, the hedge will spread on to your neighbours patch by the thickness of the hedge.

If you plant a little way on "your" side you've effectively given your neighbour a bit of your land.

It may not seem much, but in the future you don't know what possible trouble you're storing up.

At one time in the UK, boundary disputes were one of the best earners for lawyer.
