Scott Morrison....who long can a minister hide?

Garret was well hidden by Labor for a month or two....how long can Scott Morrison dodge questions and the IHMS?

Weekly press conferences are a waste of time

Wow. I don't understand why there isn't an Australian wide uproar at this mans incompetance.

I agree Martini, but he's so smug he would be oblivious as to why the uproar.

Perhaps there is too much incompetence from this federal government so there is general outrage rather than focusing on one particular minister.

Labor's super clinics which were a fail because GP's want to get paid and work for mostly private clinics who do not bulk bill.

Building where there and had only one doctor.

Where is the uproar about the health  citizens in the last 100 days?

Or during the election?

Seems everything on the list  to change was to help a mate.

-financial advisors

-MP's with private businesses

-Mining magnates

-Chinsese companies

-NDIS changes

Nobody cares about your health unless you are in a marginal seat.

We got no health fixes, instead we got a new sports stadium even though the old one is still good.

That is true for either party.

There are maralinga survivors who will not get a gold health care card for being used as guinea pigs.

There are soldierswho miss out on healthcare.

Nobody has ever cared going  very far back.

Maybe we need a third party that can have 't's leader become PM.

Ignoring the opinions of health professionals and damaging the countries reputation while dodging questions like somebody is throwing shoes at you is unprofessional.

Blame never went down the ranks in the military, it went upwards and the government should be held in the same way.

I don't have to because he is doing well however I will throw the ball back into your corner, you give me an example where he is not doing a good or better job than the previous government, I am waiting.

Abbott sacks asylum seeker health advisers

Date December 16, 2013

The Abbott government has disbanded a key group that provided advice on the health of asylum seekers in detention, as research reveals psychiatric problems - such as self-harm - are the most common reasons for the large number of detainee visits to hospital emergency departments.

They have sacked the people in the country who know the most about refugees.

Members of the Immigration Health Advisory Group (IHAG) received letters late on Friday telling them the group would be dissolved and replaced by one adviser.

Dr Paul Alexander, the group's chairman and a former head of Joint Health Command in the Defence Force, will become the sole independent health adviser to the Immigration Department.

"This is probably one of the most serious, high-risk approaches that [the] government could take in terms of the outcomes for asylum seekers and refugees," a source close to the situation said.

"They have sacked the people in the country who know the most about refugees. Torture and trauma services … psychologists who have worked extensively with refugees, mental health nurses who know about refugees."

The group included 12 medical professionals, among them psychiatrists, psychologists and GPs, with specialist knowledge about refugees.
