I wonder how many officers would be suspended if they posted unauthorised photos on the internet of a person named Joh Bloggs in custody instead of Dean Laidly ?

While many police officers do a great job in difficult circumstances there is definitely a significant percentage who are off the leash and out of control. The good guys in the force must know the stuff that is going on, but the bullies are running the show. Our police forces currently have major cultural problems with too many nasty, nutters slipping through the recruitment programme.

I suspect there is a bit of method in the madness. Some of the stuff going on with ice addiction etc. requires police who are just as nasty as the people they are working to control. It is common for a nasty, nutter cop to be teamed with one of the good guys. ( good cop bad cop ). The good guys control the situation to certain point, but if things start to get ugly, they let the nasty guy of his leash and things turn physical very quickly, often resulting in injury to the person they are dealing with. Over the top police brutality is occuring constantly, every day of the year.

its hardly a week since 5 police officers were killed, 4 in victoria and 1 in south oz.

bringing so much public talk of the respect these hard working public servants do for us and how we owe them a big thank you.

and it gets undone by the antics of a couple of unworthy dills!

it shouldnt matter if the person in custody is dean ladly or the PM or a nobody, they all need respect from those giving the power over them.

these officers should be relieved of their power as a warning to others, your not above the law.

being a cop is a serious job, not for a good time.
