Yes Erica, I've thought for 15 years or so, that there had to be "something" going on for there to be so many "training" rooms leased above shops/banks and alongside employment agencies.

This would include the Disability sector, I gather.  Too much money being siphoned off along the way.

It was a good expose from ABC's Four Corners Erica and it's shocking the things these employment services were caught doing. The ones who miss out yet again are the ones who really need the help, the unemployed and the disabled

You should see some of the courses they make the unemployed sign up for.You live in an area where unemployment sits at 12-15% or higher.You can't get a job,not because there are none,but because you lack self-confidence.They get somewhere between 10 and 15 job seekers,put them in a room with a couple of 'experts' to raise their confidence and chances of getting a job.These guys get them to engage in the most ludicrous exercises.The result? At the end of the 'course' the experts pocket a cool $15-$20 thousand for 5 days work and the unemployed are no closer to getting a job.Your tax dollars at work.

What irks me most about this system, is that the Government gave those important jobs to private enterprise, without regular auditing and checks about their legality. How stupid can one get when trying to save money, to give vultures a chance to flece the Government coffers?

Not only are they pretending to seek jobs for 780,000 out of 150,000 available jobs, but to falsify papers just to get the extra bonus pay is criminal and our Government is responsible for allowing such blatand robberies.

Then we get excuses that the powers that be have not known about it and pretend that they are outraged.

All politicians STINK!

Round and round it goes.  Consider this scenario.

A couple of people leave a Govt Dept and set up the same sort of work privately.  They tender for the work.  It is approved by a friend still in the Dept.  

The government doesn't have to pay wages, super, etc. for a couple of staff who didn't really do anything at their desk, using the govt's phone, taking home pens/paper, etc......

Attaching yourself via an umbilical cord to the UN, UN NGO, provide the UN with services type set up.

And yet, our current govt. Is full on sacking public servants and contracting out their function.
