Women who abuse Men.

Why is it more socially acceptable for a woman to abuse a man than it is for a man to abuse a woman.

Do you think there's a double standard that men get called misogynists when women can be just as guilty of misandry?

Even if we're not talking about physical abuse, what about the psychological abuse women can place on men? Women are good at working out what makes men tick and yet they continue to push the buttons. Is society the problem?

You can clearly see people laughing when a man gets abused.

It isn't.

It isn't more acceptable.

Men don't tend to own up to being physically abused by a woman.

It isn't more acceptable. It isn't as prevalent either.

It is  not acceptable. I think with men it is a control thing as much as anything. However when a woman is abusive it shows her lack of respect and even contempt for the man. Not good in either case.

my cousin was abused by his wife. It was a control thing with her. He wasn't allowed to spend time or even talk to his own family.

My hubby was abused by his ex, mother of his kids...........she still would like to think she is in control of everyone, including her adult children.

Neither is socially acceptable by most people..

That clip s a setup for a DV programme ad, so the laughter cannot be believed.

The figure in Australia is not nearly as high as 40%.

Are you saying the video clip is not a reflection of how people would react in reality?

Why is it when a man attacks, beats or kills a woman, or women, and it makes news headlines, there is always this chorus of whining about double standards. Once again we have it brought to our notice the shocking rate of violence perpetrated against women by men, and rather than acknowledge how serious the problem is, some people try to derail the discussion with the women-beating-men hypocrisy argument.

When it comes to domestic violence, rape, murder, women are disporportionately the victims, and men are the perpretrators. If your first response to any attempt at a dialogue about the domestic violence issue is to point out that sometimes women beat men too, then you are part of the problem.
