Check the state tenants' advice service. Most will have a free call number for tenants, as well as a website answering FAQs.

would think its now a new owner and no lease so start looking for a new place fast

The lease is automatically terminated. The NSW Fair Trading and/or government, not sure which was trying to fix this last year.

If you are in NSW go to the website for FairTrading and there should be a section there on Tenancy Rights, otherwise ring them in the morning, they will help.

yes 30 days notice from the sheriff in NSW but wait for the notice in writing, don't just leave - you can be done.
