Could I use the tracking stickers on a box eg.

No you cannot,  the tracking details are specific to the service

Take it back for a replacement if it was damaged when purchased

Thank you, the small strip against the glue came off when I had a few things piled up, so my own fault. Thank you for your help.

Try heating it up and see if the glue will melt enough to unstick it. You could then seal it with tape when you use it.
