A buyer has just messaged me to say she can't pay. and wants to back out of sale, hate these sorts.

Buyer has just messaged me to say she doesn't want to continue with sale and just thinks I can offer it to the next highest bidder without consequence. GRR. How do I fix this mwss up asap without being charged about $25 transaction fee. Thanks in advance for your replies.

There are a couple of options: you can just cancel the order (you'll get the Final Value Fee back), and offer it as a Second Chance Offer to the under-bidder.

 

Or, you can wait four days from the date of purchase, and open an Unpaid Item case. Once the case is settled in your favour, the "buyer" will then received an Unpaid Item strike against their account, which will cramp their style with buyers who have Buyer Requirements set in place. Again, you'll get the Final Value Fee back.

 

Then, offer it as a Second Chance to the under-bidder, or relist it.
