Buyer requested a Pay-pal payment and then asked for a pick up only  item to be left outside for collection when I the seller will not be  home.No, sorry I don't think so.Apart from locals nicking off with the goods, buyer could collect, then tell Pay-pal "'Oh well  I went around to collect and item wasn't there, please give me my money back '' !!

No, I wouldn't do it either. I would firmly say, "cash on pick up for my safety"

And if the PayPal payment was funded with a credit card you are at risk of a chargeback, even 6 months later.

If it's difficult to come up with a mutual time to meet perhaps they can pick it up from your work.
