Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

I am totally confused by click and send.

Are there any advantages to using click and send over the ebay postage label print service for a non business registered seller?

For a 500g satchel it still looks like Ebay is cheaper (even with added final value fees on postage)?

The only reason I'm looking at Click and Send is because it appears you can drop parcels off via Parcel lockers (which I don't think you can do with Ebay postage), which is appealing to me as I'm a shift worker so can't always get to a post office during business hours.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

You're right, the ebay postage is marginally cheaper.   I don't know about postage lockers, why couldn't you use them?

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

PS:   now I see about parcel lockers - you have to use their labels not ebay ones.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

I have used the eBay postage label system several times to send items to parcel lockers without any apparent issues but perhaps something has changed so could you please direct me to where any labelling limitations are specified so that I can avoid any future problems.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

The restriction being discussed applies to parcels a seller puts into parcel lockers to have collected by Aust Post and sent on.

Not parcels you directly post to a buyer who has a parcel locker addresss.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

Hi Jiggity:  i really don't know enough about the lockers - I saw this on the Aust Post website and assumed you would have to use their labels.    perhaps it needs clarifying by Aust Post?

Prepaid parcel: You can use one of our prepaid satchels or boxes, or pay for and print a postage label using MyPost Business.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

Thanks Curraone for the table above, it is really helpful.

So even with Ebays FVF on postage (I think .72 for 500g and .96 for 3kg), they still come out cheaper...surprising 🙂

And yes, the link you posted regarding parcel post lockers is the one I looked at, so I think I should err on the side of caution.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

Ebay are going to charge you FVF on postage regardless of how you send it, so I have not taken that into account for my table.

Thank you, and my apologies to everyone ... I wasn't aware of the dropping off option and misread the opening post accordingly.

Re: Click and send vs Ebay postage labels

Can I ask a silly question.

If you sell products on Ebay with postage included,

ie free postage for buyers,

And If I choose to use Ebay Postage Labels,

The final value fee for the postage, is included in the total paid

price?

Eg.

I sell a product for $20.00 all in, free postage. its < 500g.

When sold, the

FVF

Anchor Store 6.5% of $20.00

Then pay $7.40 for postage, assuming you have satchels.

Does ebay charge 6.5% on $7.40 aswell?

I don't think so, But if someone could confirm.
