I just sold an item for pickup.
Buyer messages me and arranges pickup. Pickup is done, cash paid in hand.
I know it's the real buyer because the messages and username through ebay.
He shared his mobile number as well.
Now just after this, I get a text message from another mobile number that is not the buyers number. He says he is coming to pickup the Item and wants my address.
My questions are:
1. How did this other guy get my number from ebay when I don't post it in the listing? It's only hidden on my account?
He may have been a bidder or submitted an offer but he's not the actual buyer...
2. What kind of scam is he pulling? Trying to pickup a free TV assuming the other guy paid paypal or something? Or trying to get details for a phishing attack?
3. How can I stop people getting my mobile number in future?
