Random prices for same Australia Post postage label?

I've got a item for sale, this has more than 10 units for sale, has 'free' postage.

Today I had two different buyers buy this item in about 30 mins, went to print the postage label (small satchel) just now and got two different prices.

I'm based in VIC, the first label was to QLD for $8.65

The second label was going to VIC about 30kms from me and was $8.95.

Same ebay item being sold, same postage label being purchased.

While not huge, it adds up!

Anyone know what is going on?

The $8.65 is for parcels being sent to metro areas. The $8.95 is rural and regional. I live in a rural area in NSW and had to pay $8.95 to a local buyer and $8.65 for a parcel that was sent to Sydney.

Ahhh that would make sense, but kinda seems to contradict the flat price of the satachels though? Thought it was one price for all of Australia? Didn't know they had a tier pricing model!

Its been happening on and off, I just assumed it was some ebay quirk and thought its time to ask what was up 🙂

Well problem solved, thanks for answering so fast!
