Why do sellers have to put up with 30 days returns?

How long are we sellers going to put up with the eBay?

They tell us when to wake up,go to bed, when to eat,go to toilet,& continue to make changes to our original agreement at their whim,to make themselves look the protectors of the buyers.

In doing so they are inflicting hardship on the sellers.

The 30 days return policy is a total sham.

I recently had to refund a number of electrical items, that were returned as not required, ordered wrong item, found othr fault in machine etc.

Under Australian consumer law I can no longer sell these items without advising the purchaser that they are USED items & require to be tested by a licensed person.

The choice to offer 30 day returns is yours. If you choose to try to get in eBay's good books by doing so that is a business decision you make.

I don't offer COM returns and i still sell stuff, so maybe look at your own business model rather than slavishly following eBay suggestions.

If you choose to accept returns, then that is what you are choosing to do

If it annoys someone that much, don't make the offer in the first place

I sure as hack would'nt/won't be doing so

That is absolute rubbish.

If you want pretty things like Premium Seller (edit: Top Rated Plus, apparently) against your items, yes, you need to offer 30 day returns. And express. And 1 day handling.

As I, and others, have said, it is not mandatory. It is a choice you make. If you don't like it, stop doing it.

I have 2 TRS accounts, neither of which have returns (except for INAD, which is a pseudo-legal requirement) enabled. eBay ocassionally push me to give 30 day returns. I ignore.
