The seller is registered in China so you can be sure that is where it will be posted....it is subsidised by the Chinese government.

The item location of "Darwin" is usually a giveaway that it's a Chinese seller mis-representing location.
eBay have just announced a crackdown on just this thing in the UK so let's hope it arrives here sooner rather than later.

definately China. If they were in Australia they would be out of pocket.
That would cost $7.95 or $7.55 with an ebay label.

"it is subsidised by the Chinese government.":
NO - the postal cost is subsidised by the Australian taxpayer

There are lots of like this with fast and free option as well.
They will send items through asutpost.
Some case offering two or three option free delivery, via post or collect from some stores near buyer location
Can Anybody find clue ?
Links to the listings in question would be useful - there is no way we could answer this question otherwise.

Only partially true pdme, China does subsidise postal charges to international countries to help their exports.
In regards to Australia subsidising postage, that comes under the Universal Postal Union agreement started 144 years ago, which covers mail delivered from all countries into Austalia.
