Don't use the app. Unlike the others eBay's app has never really worked.

I've had no problems whatsoever with the app from a buying pespective (searching, browsing, buying and paying for items), I use it all the time and love it. There are some restrictions for selling, eg can't send an invoice unless the buyer requests total, but it is great for messages, alerts, editing and checking on your items etc. I suspect that a lot of the people who experience problems may not install the latest updates when available, or maybe they have internet issues.

I don't use the app that often, but just checked and mine is working. In the past when it has failed to work, I uninstall and reinstall and that seems to fix any errors. You can also try clearing the cache and data in the application settings on your device. It means you have to log back in manually, but that can often fix errors too. If that doesn't work, reinstall.
