Just looking at managed payments (eBay's short term money investment scheme?).
Which states:
Simplified fees:
Isn't the $0.30 a third party payment for processing that order?

Nope, it is another ebay fee.....no third party involved.
The money goes straight from the seller's pocket to ebay's very deep pockets.

Or Adyen's.

So it's actually a second party payment in the same manner as a third party payment but this way they can claim it's not a third party payment.as they are collecting it the same as Paypal do as a transaction payment.
So it doesn't matter whatever payment option you choose they still collect the 30 cents plus the FVF's so low priced
items cop an even bigger gouge out of any potential profit (Chinese sellers will be exempt oof course).
So a $3 item would be 33 cents eBay and GST + 38 cents if paid with Paypal plus the now extra 30 cents would make it $1.01 all up so over 33% in "fees"
Include $2.50 postage and it becomes 60 cents plus 44 cents plus 30 cents for a total of $1.34 so over 44% of the "sale" goes in fees.
Can't sell much stuff on eBay now so having to raise prices to allow for increases in fees is only going to make lower priced stuff sit around even longer.
I sell more elsewhere now anyway and don't get anywhere near what I used to get so I'll just keep plugging away
and hope that it improves.

The prices work out at about the same as Paypal, tazz. No Paypal fees with managed payments. eBay have included them in the new FVFs.

Ok,thanks as it just seemed like another money grab like the postage FVF grab when it has nothing to do with the
item and I still can't see how it's actually legal.

this part is a ripper
SHOPIFY sendle rates kill the ebay rates so why would one print a sendle label via ebay when the rates are better on shopify also with NO min sending limit etc on the seller unlike ebay are going to set up that a seller needs to send x packages to tap into the cheaper rates.

And thinking about it EBAY could offer better shipping rates on AUSPOST if they wanted but choose NOT to do. All they would have to do is roll the FVF shopping fee they are milking off every seller and roll it back into the shipping labels via a subsidy or a shipping credit for labels each month eg if seller paid say $30 in FVF on shipping they would get a $30 dollar credit to use on shipping labels the following month. But can not see that happening
