Can I withdraw item with bid if stated item advertised elsewhere and it sells outside ebay?

Guess a definite no no? Interested party 'doesn't check e-bay often' - wants further info, reply sent to another email. Item has only 2 days to go. Sounds suss. What can scammers do once get hold of private email address?

Thanks for reply. Must be new e-bay policy? Have often seen ads saying 'reserve right to withdraw due to advertising elsewhere.'
