Has anyone been duped by free gift of "Le Creuset" kitchen pots?

When ordering stuff from eBay, one is shown a message suggesting that one may claim 1 pending gift. After a few more steps, such as participating in a lottery type, one is told that one has won some brand names pot called Le Creuset. This leads to paying for postage of $3. This leads to the website accessing your bank account without authorisation.

You are also going to have to notify your bank you gave your details to scammer

Other who 'thought' they were going to get $$$$$ worth of prizes for $3 postage have said they have a fee of a couple of hundred every two weeks as well

You will need to cancel that card and get a new one

And you will need your computer/device properly checked over for whatever malware/whatever scammers install

stop

There is nothing 'real' looking about these things

There are warnings all over the place about them

Take responsibility for your part in playing along with these scamming scambags

I’ll only reiterate what the other posters have said.

STOP clicking onto such lures.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch — in Le Creuset cookware or not.

Warnings about identity theft online scams are everywhere.

It’s not just your money you’ve exposed to the scammers; it’s your identity.

Survey, free gift, winner, SCAM.

Please don't tell us - you actually gave your bank or credit card details.

It is a scam and well known one

Nothing to do with eBay, the same scam appears on numerous websites so kindly stop the 'when buying on eBay' and 'one is offered' nonsense

You did authorise it when you willingly gave all your details

And it has been posted about several times on the forum

Stop clicking on scam ads

very very very easy to avoid something like this
