Hi, please take a look at this seller’s eBay page item no.181285248932 that I bought 27/8/2014.
You will see that it is still listed for new eBay buyers to purchase today. The seller’s eBay page states 1 year warranty very clearly all over the main page/photo.
I have had problems with the battery since day 1 when I received it (screen blacking out without warning,
DISCHARGING instead of CHARGING), Sept. 2014 but because I was writing up a PhD due Dec.1, 2014 I was in a panic to get it finished. The seller said to me that they would send me another battery if I gave them a further $20 which would make it a total of $52.99 to get another battery.
I asked them if I posted this first bad battery back to them
(free of charge...I would pay the $8 shipping) if they would refund my $32.99.
They won’t reply even when I ask about the 1 year warranty that they boast
about on their eBay page.
This is false advertising and eBay should pull down the page for misleading future buyers…giving buyers a false sense of security that they are covered for 365days from date of purchase.
Apart from me having lodged this complaint at econsumer.gov what else can I do:
