Dehumidifier being sold on Ebay as 220volt ,but is 110volt ,buyer beware

Be advised these are being sold by multiple sellers on ebay as Rated 220volt , i purchased 3 of these and they are 110volt . I received a full refund

110v makes them a fire hazard in Aus unless you run them through a stepdown transformer . s-l400.jpg

All the ones I looked at were from Chinese sellers (look at their feedback for country of registration).

To be honest I wouldn't buy any electrical items from them as they are very unlikely to be compliant with Australian electrical codes, and as such if they are faulty your insurance will not cover you in the case of malfunction - ie someone getting electrocuted or your house burning down.

Which is exactly the reason why people should not buy electrical items of any kind from China

Regardless of 'what the ad says'

Posting here is not warning very many - few members visit these boards unless they have a problem.

Where is the feedback on the sellers fb page to warn others?
