Shocking!
Seller sent partial batch of incorrect goods.
I returned the faulty batch via registered post. Online tracking shows that it has been delivered.
Seller now claims that they didn't receive incorrect goods returned to them.
What sort of protection does Ebay give you?

Did you open an ebay dispute before returning the items?
If you did not do so how do you expect ebay to even know about your problem?

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
Yes I have opened a dispute.
Initially seller has responded, will replace goods "could u help us close the dispute?"
I have not closed the dispute. Issue has not been resolved and many do not recommend to close dispute prematurely.
Seller agreed to have goods returned. Instructed me to return by registered post.
Package returned shows up as it has been delivered.
Seller claims they haven't received it.
Last I heard from them is that they will check.
Very stressful and messy.

Did you put the tracking number into the dispute?

Yes

As long as you can prove to eBay that the address the package was sent to matches the address provided via the return case, there shouldn't be a problem resolving the issue in your favour. (i.e. if the seller denies receiving the package, you may need to provide further evidence beyond the tracking number, such as a filled out and stamped lodgement receipt, or a copy of the postage label - anything that shows the delivery address and tracking number together).

I have uploaded the postage label with proof of delivery signed by seller.
Also notified the seller about proof of delivery has been uploaded.
This has been very stressful.

Ring ebay and get a supervisor to look into it.
It shouldnt take 3 weeks to get this sorted.... thats ridiculous!
Check your sellers feedback..... anything negative that indicates this might be a *thing* with them?

99.2% is not too bad for a low volume seller but if there are a high number of transactions it means tha there could be dozens of unhappy buyers.
I am glad you got part of the money back but that was a large amount of postage to miss out on.
