Using PayPal balance to buy on iPhone eBay app?

I have a positive PayPal balance due to a few recent sales. Instead of transferring the balance to my bank account I want to use the money to make a purchase. I clicked the "make payment" button on the eBay item (I'm using the iPhone app) & clicked "view finding sources" but the balance isn't listed as an option, just the visa card & my bank account.

Is this a limitation of the app or something else?

I keep the eBay app on my phone because it goes ca-ching when I sell something. About a second before the sales confirmation email comes through.

Pretty useless for a seller otherwise. Can't delete listings, send invoices. And I'm not going to try listing books on my phone, especially as all the information is on my computer.

It also goes ca-ching when I win an auction and I don't need every man and his dog knowing that how many items I might win while on a 1 hour train trip.:^O
