no it isn't a limit on the app, it works by the same rules as paypal does on a desktop.
If you have a positive paypal balance that covers your ebay purchase, then the only option that should even appear is - from paypal balance.
??? mmm .... do you have the paypal app on your phone ???

Yes, I have both apps. I'm not getting the "from PayPal balance" option at all. I have checked & re-checked the balance & it more than covers the purchase price (it's the personalised cards BTW & I am paying two separate transactions as per seller request & there is a positive balance of a little over $50 in the PayPal account).
Its annoying because I really don't want to hit up the poor visa card again so close to Christmas want don't want to wait for an echeque to clear...
Ill see if I can get a screen shot of what I am left with.

I won't guarantee it because I've never used a mobile app etc to buy or pay for a purchase, but it's PayPal policy to always use available funds in an account before taking funds from other sources, so if you confirm the payment it (theoretically) should come from your available funds.
There is one Australian site that I purchase quite frequently from (on my laptop) and every time I get to the PayPal payment page, it always says that it's going to take funds from my available balance and bank account (which is my primary funding source, with a debit card attached). However, I have always had more than enough available funds in my account to cover the payment, and 100% of the payment is taken from those funds.

mmm - when you make payment from app - you should not have to manually click view funding sources - to make a payment as the screen usually automatically defaults to payment details including showing the amount - and underneath the amount - the source.

Isn't there a link at the bottom of the ebay page to view the full site, not the app version?
I wouldn't have a clue as I have only used the thing to check if I have any messages when I am not at home and using my Kindle Fire.

also - if it is two separate transactions from same seller that may be linked to the problem, as the app is carp at handling anything combined or split etc etc

On the iphone app choose to go to the (ebay) classic view or classic site then go to "my ebay" and see if you can pay from there by clicking the pay now option next to your purchase.
I removed both the ebay and paypal apps from my phone and just type in their URL into the browser.
(I can afford to do this as I have 6gb data per month on the phone.).
There are way too many glitches on the ebay app for it to be considered reliable

it is a damn site more reliable and quicker to use for bidding on auctions than a desktop anyday B-)
