n I received the selfie stick, the remote was broken. I contacted the seller who said she would send me another one. Today she has asked me to close the case so she can send the new remote. I am confused as to why i need to do this. Is this legitimate?

No, it is a trick. If you close the case, the seller will not send anything and will just ignore you.

Don't close the case until you have what you want (I would ask for a refund, not a replacement) and are satisfied.

The seller more than likely has zero intention of sending you anything and a legit seller would not ask

No it is not legit, it's a very common practice by dodgy sellers. If you do close the dispute you can be almost certain you'll get nothing.

You would have been better off demanding a refund and buying another one elsewhere.

Indeed we are Papermoon, but in reality eBay should be making it very clear to members opening disputes that they should not close them until they have complete satisfaction with the outcome.

In effect they are condoning scammers by not doing so..............😎
