Surprised at the number of new unsued stamps sold on ebay just cut from envelopes from many sellers. Cannot understand this. Are these stamps legal to use? See some take the paper off and sell as unglued. This is a puzzle to me, so hope someone can explain it to me please. Thanks.

It is not illegal to sell these. Please note that although they do not appear to have a postmark they may be cancelled with ultra violet ink.
It is legal to use any Australian decimal stamp that has not been through the post, provided you use the correct amount. Unused stamps can be bought for a discount of up to 50% from stamp dealers and usually 70% on Ebay.

Thanks for your help. Did not think of an ultra violet lamp being used. Guess they all work in busy offices and just cut of the stamps that seem unmarked.
