Is anyone able to help me identfy this picture please. It is extremely heavy and I think it may be Islam but I'm really not sure.

Interesting. Do you live near a Mosque ? Perhaps take it to them. Most days of the week, there are folks around them. I once had a carpet that I thought looked Islamic. Took it there and asked for some info. The folks gave me some great advice and were very interested & friendly. Worth a try.
Seeing an Arabic friend tomorrow and I will show it to him.
On first thought, anything with a sword is often Saudi Arabian as I see a sword amongst the script.

Ok, my arabian friend said the following.
It is a common chant used by Muslims.
It basically says, Alluha Akbar, God is greatest. Also that Muhammed is the prophet of god.
Something many Muslims have in their homes.
Used by Saudi's, Turkish, Yemenese, Palistinians and many others.
Similar to Christians having a cross with some scriptures from the bible presented in an elaborate form framed.
But he did say, it is a very nice version of one of these.
