Star Wars toy from the 1980s?

Hi I have found a strange little toy recently. the arms move and it stands independently. It says 'Mattel Inc 1984' so I think it might be a Star Wars item? it is approx 4cm in diamter and you can turn the dial on the side. The arms move and it rolls along, very weird. I have tried looking on the net myself but there are so many Star Wars sites! Thank you

I had a look and couldn't find anything similar.

It's possible this toy is part of a larger battleship or some other larger toy.
