And after a stay of execution,Whithaven Coal is going to have another crack at clearing 5000 hectares of Leard Forest in northern N.S.W.

Lovely bunch,these mining companies.

Re: Brigelow and Nandewar Conservation Areas

We had a 'quiet protest' march through town today followed by day 1 of the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) public submissions hearing.  I'm so impressed by the speakers today. I hope the PAC are really listening to what is being said. Unfortunately mining proposals are assessed on economic impact rather than environmental or social impact so we probably won't win this fight, but it sure won't be for a lack of passion or commitment from the communities in and around the Liverpool Plains.
