I made a batch of chocolate crackles without copha or coconut as I am allergic to coconut and copha gives me a migrane.
I wasn't sure if they would work but they are terrific with no bitter taste. Should have tried it ages ago.

I have a recipe as well for Chocolate Crackles without copha/Kremelta etc in them, have used it since my kids were small, now in their 20's.
I am not allergic to those items, I just don't like the taste of them.

Am. I agree the copha has a very bitter taste. This recipe is just dark chocolate, butter and coco pops. Dead easy.

Jean, could you post the recipe please?
I love choc crackles, can't eat coconut but usually just omit it and use copha but would like to try it without. I've thought of trying to make a more adult version using some type of liquer or chilli chocolate etc.
Now I really feel like one lol

soul_art.
A 200g bar of dark chocolate preferably with 70% coco content. They are marked on the front of packet.
100g unsalted butter.
3 cups of coco pops.
Break chocolate into small squares and cut butter into small cubes.
Gently melt butter and chocolate together over a LOW heat.
Take off stove and let cool. About 10 Mins.
Mix in coco pops making sure to fully coat them.
Spoon mix into paper patty cups and put in fridge for about 2 hours.
If your family prefer white ones, just substitute white chocolate and ordinaly rice bubbles.
Enjoy.

Hi. It's been a long time since I posted this and very glad you replied. I can't use coconut oil as I am also allergic to this. Hope your crackles turned out OK.๐
