FOO News

001.JPG

As can be seen in the photo, Foo has had a blood test done today.

i noticed a swelling on his snout on friday morning so took him in to the vets friday afternoon.

the swelling is thought to be a tooth abcese.

whilst at the vets the vet noticed looking at Foos weight he had lost over 2 kilos since last december and about 5 kilos in a year!

hence the blood test, i will get the results tomorrow afternoon.

hes on anti biotics for his swelling and its allready gone down since friday.

the vet his holding off on the tooth problem until she gets the results from the blood test.

hes 11 years old, i'm not panicing but i am worried.

fingers crossed its not what it might be, cant even say it.

I understand. David.

My youngest grandie has the same diagnosis.

I worry for him as he grows.   He's 12

I know you can do it.

its good hes been diagnosed early and he will not be treated badly by those who know why hes not exactly like everyone around him.

i wish id known when i was a boy, or at least i wish my family knew.

i was very lucky my mum and dad took great care of me my whole life while they were alive.

they left me in a good place with my brother and wife close by, a home and a car.

i keep a low profile here and live for me a happy contented life.

Re: FOO News

He's still difficult to deal with though.

Has to be told the same thing every single day.   Doesn't have street smarts at all.

Academically brilliant, but frustrating in everyday life.

I'm glad I'm not his mum, that's all I'm saying.

Your fear of travelling to Adelaide - get over it - you will have a furry, snuggling friend with you - on the way home.

I'm  in NSW - when deciding on a Scots Terrier - I had to go to Ballarat - Vic.

The drive down wasn't so bad - done over two days.

The trip home - another story - there she was - so tiny - in a box in the floor cavity.

Leaving Vic at 2pm - stopping for puppy needs - I finally pulled up in our drive - at 3am next morning.

The lovely thing was DD in PJ's - just couldn't wait to hold the furry little ball - waiting.

As Rosie is - as Foo was - they are a pleasure in our lives.

Take the drive David - you will never regret it.

This was her :

There's a difference right there.

He can upset you, knows he's upset you, but doesn't understand how he did.

Or how to avoid doing it again.

Bulldogs?   Not a fan, sorry

Now that is a face that only a mother could love.   Not a fan of bulldogs.

That little Scottie is another matter....she is gorgeous.

When we wanted a dog we knew it had to be fairly small as we don't have a big backyard.

I was keen to get a Scottie but they were very expensive and hard to get....the wait was horrendous.   I had seen a Westie at a Pet Expo and was very taken with him and very soon after I met one while delivering newspapers.  He was adorable and there and then I decided to take whatever became available first....a Westie or a Scottie.

Within a matter of months I saw a very small ad in the weekend newspaper for the last of a litter of Westies.  As it was late in the morning I rang up to see if he had gone already.....within half an hour we were on the way to the north coast.  We were stunned when we arrived to find that we knew the breeders from horse shows....they had been at the same show as us the previous weekend.

Long story short...he was adorable and came home with us to have a long and happy life.

We later met the owner of his sire who told us that we should be showing our little boy as he was so true to type.  We were already involved with horses and were not interested.

Re: FOO News

So sorry to hear about Foo but you did the right thing. Can't leave an animal in pain. 1 often think it is a shame dogs & cats have such short life spans compared to humans but at least you made Foo's life a happy one.
