Gender, can you pick a sellers Gender on eBay?

Not at all unless they come out and state what gender they are.

And only when you receive a parcel from them with their name on it do you then know if they are male or female.

Feedback not gender is the only thing that influences my eBay purchases. Oh and wether it's being sent via the GSP

Having read the article I'm a bit sceptical as to it's validity.
0.88 less bids is hardly a strong bias and I would be very surprised if there are enough sellers of both genders selling similar items for a proper statistical analysis. I for one find that more men sell what I buy but I buy things men are more interested in
