I think this is a great idea.

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-31042477....Want to gain entry to your office, get on a bus, or perhaps buy a sandwich? We're all getting used to swiping a card to do all these things. But at Epicenter, a new hi-tech office block in Sweden, they are trying a different approach - a chip under the skin.

Re: I think this is a great idea.

About 10 years ago, I had a schizophrenic acquaintance, who honestly believed that "someone" had inserted a chip under the skin of his nape when he was a babe.

He went to Holsworthy, wrote to John Howard, etc,  for Defence Dept permission to undergo surgery to remove the foreign apparatus. During times of transmission from the enemy, It was telling him to do things he knew were wrong for our country's wellbeing.

Tommy, add a GPS tracker to your invention.  I'm sure there's more ideas forthcoming.  And of course,  if I have thought of any invention, someone else thought of that invention before me.Smiley LOL

TWO U.S. EMPLOYEES INJECTED WITH RFID MICROCHIPS AT COMPANY REQUEST

Government Contractor Adopts Controversial VeriChip Implant in Workplace

Cincinnati video surveillance company CityWatcher.com now requires employees to use VeriChip human implantable microchips to enter a secure data center, Network Administrator Khary Williams told Liz McIntyre by phone yesterday. McIntyre, co-author of "Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID," contacted CityWatcher after it announced it had integrated the VeriChip VeriGuard product into its access control system.

The VeriChip is a glass encapsulated RFID tag that is injected into the flesh of the triceps area of the arm to uniquely number and identify individuals. The tag can be read through a person's clothing, silently and invisibly, by radio waves from a few inches away.

The highly controversial device is being marketed as a way to access secure areas, link to medical records, and serve as a payment instrument when associated with a credit card. . . .

. . . "It worries us that a government contractor that specializes in surveillance projects would be the first to publicly incorporate this technology in the workplace," said McIntyre. CityWatcher provides video surveillance, monitoring and video storage for government and businesses, with cameras set up on public streets throughout Cincinatti.

Re: I think this is a great idea.

I don't even own a mobile phone and I make almost all of my purchases in cash.

There's no way I'd agree to have an RFID implanted under my skin for any reason whatsoever.

What is the world coming to? (rhetorical question, of course)

I'd like to swipe some threads right off my CS page.  This would be one of them.
