If I have to pay to see the GP

I might just take a bit longer and get my moneys worth.

Usually I am aware of people waiting (but there will be less of them apparently) so I can take my time 🙂

Something you may not know is every Australian who works has to pay a Medicare levy.

They are idiots to do this as many people just wont go to the doctor and until things are that bad and then they end up in hospital.

it has happened before when they have taken certain things of the concession prescription list.

It's a worry.

I visit my GP at least once a month.

What about all the people that mightn't have the money on the day?

Stop wasting their time and our money. Your problem is your watch too much TV. That'll be $6.

I already have to pay $75 to see a GP and that's for a short session. If you're unlucky enough to have two things wrong, you have to make another appointment.

The hospital and community medical centre waiting rooms are overcrowded...that's what will happen in the cities. Emergencies will suffer and so will the hospital staff...they're stressed and overworked enough already.

Do you think that you should not have to pay for services received?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

So by this statement a wealthy (and healthy) successful business woman in a  well todo middle class 2 income family is bulk billed and on a health care card and cant afford $6.00 to visit a doctor?

I find this very interesting....

The annual Medicare bill has risen in the past 10 years from $8.1 billion to $17.8bn, and the frequency of GP visits has jumped from 4.3 a person in 2003-04 to 5.6 between April 2012 and March last year.

How do we as tax payers (well the people paying tax) keep on affording this...
