How many flashing thingies do we need?

Now I'm getting signs coming up that someone has replied to a post that I made.

Unless I stop posting, it's constant.

I thought I had that particular notification turned off in my settings..............................

Just got a notice saying the board was closed for maintenance   ..... then back it came, weird?
