well thats a shame, i so hoped he wasn't guilty of such things
i ponder at why, what made him such an animal, was he abused and could'nt break the cycle?!
and to his victims, have some them turned into abusers too?
a sad story, and a cycle of events that can turn so ugly

I am of the generation of children that adored Rolf when he was a young man, but...............there were rumours, even then, when I was old enough to understand said rumours.
Unbelieveable!

I am so sorry that happened to you Alexandra. I agree with you that words do matter.
I think you also bring up another very important point that it is easy to jump to conclusions regarding men. There are a lot of false allegations that are sadly destroying people's lives. I've seen it in foster care many times. I think we have to be careful that when we do say something we are sure about what we are saying. Having said that for far too long society have ignored children who were being abused and did nothing. When I was at school I was told that things like that doesn't happen in country schools but they do, or that things like that don't happen to kids in our community, yet they did. Lives damaged forever by the impact of abuse, breaks my heart thinking about it.
Nobody stood up for the children and that is why now we have to investigate every accusation and every concern raised by a child to ensure that we can keep children safe.
When children are abused their innocence is destroyed, it stays with them forever affecting the soul and spirit in so many ways. I hope that somehow those affect by abuse can heal and yet I know the pain of that never goes away. You are brave Alexandra for having the courage to stand up for your convictions on a forum and say it like it is.

Vanessa Feltz is a UK TV presenter, broadcaster, journalist, and columnist for a national newspaper, who once had her own television talk show. She is a very forthright and straight talking personality. (Not sure if the 'Australian' is one of your newspapers or magazines).
'Ms Feltz wrote about the audacious alleged assault in a newspaper column in October 2012, just a month before Harris was first questioned by police, but was unable to name him at the time'.
Here is her encounter with Harris:
