Spring violets

I didn't so much buy a house as inherit a garden.

The "I'll grow anywhere, given an opportunity", purple.

The slightly more sedate white, which, on the whole, prefers sheltered spots

And the pink, which grows in one place only and lends me to believe that when it comes to successful transplanting, I don't have a green thumb,. Smiley LOL

I only have the purple, but they are so pretty and cute.

There's parts of the garden, like this, where I can't spray weed killer, so it's a constant battle to get rid of the sticky nuisance.

The trouble with it is, as I'm sure you already know, that it breaks really easily and if you don't get the roots out then it comes back ten fold.

It's a blessing and a curse - at least it means I spend time out in the garden. Smiley LOL

Well at least you know what it is, and have been trying to get on top of it.

So, that's good.

Violets are one of my favourite flowers

they are lovely plants

we had hundreds of the purple ones in our old house and we dug a few out when we moved now 3 years later we have a garden bed full of them again

they make the soil improve also i find because being a ground cover they keep the baking sun of the soil and the worms love that!!

im envious you have all 3 colours Smiley Happy

Violets are one of my most favourite flowers and I love the pink - I haven't seen them before.  Do they have a beautiful smell like the purple ones?

Nodding violets are lovely. They flower all year and grow so easily in a pot.

Nodding violets are from the same family as African Violets, but, yes, they are pretty.

I have had a bumper crop of violets this year - purple, pink, and, white. They all smell divine.

Yes, well, a little bit "softer". I'm not sure that's a good description. Smiley LOL
