Pimpy, I think the lack of unbiased voting could be one of the contributing factors in the decline of photographers (at least some of the Americans) entering the challenges.

Because your threads continually motivate me to practice photography, I've been trying to not allow some of the unsportsmanlike behavior discourage me from participating.  But sometimes it ain't easy.

I miss a lot of the photographers too, and would love to see them return in the near future. Maybe with a promise of squirrel kisses – they will.

Bumping it up to say that I agree with you completely, Faye.

Personally, I'm a stickler for rules--especially the one about "should be your own work". Think that one should apply to EVERYONE--not just the Americans.

As for the biased voting--well, I hate to say anything about that since some Americans have won. I think, across the board though, more votes definitely go to fellow Aussie's photos even when they're the same ones that have been posted for the fifteenth time.

I just wish someone had thought of doing a photo challenge thread on the soapbox before Lithium killed it.

In the meantime though, there's always Poddy's thread--where everyone's photos are welcome.
