Specifically the postage cost being charged to send a USB from the U.S. to Australia is listed as $37 (more than the cost of the item), can I query this cost without offending the seller, and if so, how do I do so politely. Thanks for any advice.

If postage is high compared to what other sellers in that country are charging, I'll message the seller and ask if any other postage options are available to make it a little cheaper. I'm not accusing them of overcharging, just making an enqiry. I specifically mention the cost shown in the listing, as some may be unaware what price is displayed for each country they ship to.
Some ignore the request but the majority respond by offering a better price for postage.
